Last year I took quite the liking to comic books. However, since last fall due to studies and personal life issues I kind of lingered away from that small hobby of mine. However, with personal issues somewhat resolved and my required time for studies slowly decreasing, I think I'm going to soon have the time to get back into comic books.

Some comic books I've enjoyed in the past are:

Deadpool
Ultimate X Men
Ultimate Spiderman
Watchmen
The Long Halloween
V For Vendetta
Arkham Asylum

I tried getting into No Man's Land and Witchblade to, but they just couldn't hold my interest. I also foolishly tried Ultimatum, which I think was the last thing I read. I think it killed my interest in comics a little...

I've decided that I kind of want to start fresh with a new series. New characters, a new plot etc. So I'm not particularly interested in anything to do with Batman, X Men or Spiderman - Unless if there's something super awesome that I HAVE to read.

It can be Marvel, DC, Darkhorse whatever. I'm open to all kinds of suggestions. To be honest, I'd quite like to check some Ironman comic books out, but I'm not sure where to start. The reason I started reading Ultimate Marvel was because I couldn't wrap my head around the jaw droppingly huge Marvel 616 universe. I apologise for I am only a scrub in the diverse world of comic books.

But if you have any suggestions for keeping my interest in comic books, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for reading :)

The Walking Dead (Image)

Iron Man (Marvel): Extremis - In my opinion, this is the best starting point for the current Iron Man. It starts just before the Marvel Civil War story, so there are several trades to get you caught up to the new issues.

Haunt (Image). He's kind of an anti-hero. It's only on issue # 7 created by Todd Mcfarlane (Spawn and Spiderman)

Brightest Day (DC) its the follow-up to Blackest Night and it's only on issue # 2 so it would be really easy to get into.

I'd recommend more, but I'm still new at this. I just ordered Azrael 1, 2, and 3, but having not read it I can't really recommend it. But it looks cool.

Best of luck

i could extremely propose those picture novels: Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" sequence -- It tells an epic tale approximately "Dream", the Lord of Dreamworld, lovingly recognized by way of fact the Sandman or Morpheus. It additionally explores his kin that are composed of personified components of existence, which comprise death, melancholy, want, Delirium, Destruction, and destiny. it extremely is a extremely darkish comedian, yet provides you many magnificent and significant section thoughts to boot as philosophy. "The Watchmen" -- a classic for those into superheros and villains. It makes you end and picture approximately what you communicate justice and what makes a hero and what makes a villain. "The League of incredible gents" -- a picture novel that incorporates mythical characters from classic literature. besides the reality that it makes for a extra exciting tale in case you could know the unique novels the characters are from, which comprise Nemo, Quartermain, or Dorian gray, it rather is not mandatory and you're able to absolutely immerse your self into the international they stay in and luxuriate in it. "Arkham Asylum" -- a chain of the Batman franchise. it rather is variety of darkish and twisted, yet makes for super examining. It explores the villains and classic figures that are in contact (or imprisoned) interior the titled place. Being a Batman fan enables for the appreciation of the characters, even regardless of the undeniable fact that it is not mandatory because it rather is enjoyed as a separate sequence. "Sin city" -- definite, the comedian wherein the movie grow to be in accordance with. the unique comics furnish some extra info and section thoughts which you don't get interior the movie. it rather is totally darkish and satirical, yet delivers many philosophical arguments. the way the thoughts are instructed is only staggering and bypass ideas-blowing. i wish you have fun with those suggestions :)
