Apparently 4Kids Entertainment announced broadcasting and distribution rights for Pretty Cure (Futari wa Pretty Cure) in the United States. But since there has been no news of an official English translation or dub has appeared since they announcement in Feb 2006, and "apparently" it's one of their tv productions that's on hiatus.. Now I haven't watched the original Pretty Cure yet however I'm currently watching Yes! PreCure 5. I'm pretty sure it's the 4th season of the series. But do you think 4Kids Entertainment will mess up this up with horrible dubs, and when will it might appear on the tube.. or will it it ever appear at all?

Apparently they did lisense it, if you go under anime databases such as animenewsnetwork.com and check it's listed as lisensed by 4Kids Entertainment, so they did lisense it back in 2006 and said they would broadcast it in the fall, but now it's 2007 and we haven't seen anything.

First all, 4Kids entertainment always makes a mess of the anime they lisense. Not to be biased but I have seen many of them and they are really bad. So, it would be messed up.

Now as to if it would ever appear or not, we really can't know untill they make another announcement reguarding what they are doing with it. It's possible they lisensed it and couldn't find a station willing to broadcast it (as this has happened with ADV when they lisensed Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, and they couldn't find anyone willing to broadcast it and in the end they dropped their lisense of it)

It's possible that 4Kids might drop their lisense like ADV, or they are just having it on hiatus and will have it appear sometime later this year or later. But, more than likely, even if they do get it on tv, it will flop. Unfortunatly, shoujo (girls) anime dosen't do well on U.S. TV. it's been proven over and over again look at Escaflowne (taken off broadcast and not finished) Card Captor Sakura (taken off broadcast) Tokyo Mew Mew (taken off broadcast). Companies know they are taking a big risk with shoujo anime, they end up not being as popular as titles such as Naruto and Bleach and because they are edited and numbed down even more to be even more kiddy..it just dosen't go over well.

so, in short my t heory is they rather can't find a broadcaster or are in hiatus deciding if it's going to be lucrative enough or not.

Let's see....4kids did all of those anime on the Fox network way back when (If I can remember that far back >.>"). I never really watched that stuff.....other than Pokemon (which was on the Warner Bros. channel). I might have seen a few episodes of Ultimate muscle or Shaman King, but I think the voices might have scared me off V.v e.e Just joking. Character voices don't scare me off. I don't think 4KIDS edited it properly enough for one such as myself to actually take interest. Did 4Kids license any of these anime? >>Medabots >>Sonic the Hedgehog I'm just curious (and lazy for that matter). Those where anime shows I was actually interested in. Anyways, 4Kids is a licensing brand I would not want to get mixed up with.......I mean, after seeing what they did to One Piece......you get the picture. I haven't seen the unedited version of pokemon yet, but it seemed to be okay when I was a kid (I know for sure 4Kids dubbed this one because of the sponsor brand at the end of the episode). The voice actors were actually well known throughout the 90's. Racheal Lillis, Veronica Taylor, the guy who does Brock's voice. I feel they are all exceptional and talented voice actors that deverve at least some credit. Other than that, anything dubbed and edited by 4KIDS isn't well done. nya nya
