Which superheroes have dead parents?

Lots of superheroes have dead parents, but Batman is one of the few people who became a superhero BECAUSE his parents were killed in front of him. There's a big difference.



In this respect that actually aren't that many heroes like that save for Robin. Until the fifth Robin (Damien Wayne) every Robin was an orphan.

Your take on Batman's response to seeing his parents murdered is way off. Batman never whines. Batman never mentions his parents. The reader is told about the death of his parents. We see the writer telling the reader about the murders. We see Batman thinking about the murders. But Batman never utters a single word to anyone about the death of his parents. This is a burden he carries alone.
