Why has Highschool of the dead been on hiatus for over 2 years now? has it been canceled?

Is it because that some people rated it badly? It was said that the artist of HOTD is focusing on his own manga Triage X BECAUSE HOTD is on hiatus. The fact that there have been no updates at all makes me, and many fans, think that perhaps HOTD is dead. There isnt even a season 2 for the anime although I think there's enough material for it since the first season covers only half of the current manga.

It's been on hiatus for the last 13 months because the artist is re-doing Highschool of the Dead in color. He's re-drawing the whole thing and drawing Triage X (writer and artist are different for Hischool of the Dead). It *might* start back up again when he finishes the color editions, but we don't know.

And no, there isn't enough material for another season. It's close, but where the last chapter stopped is in the climax of the arc, basically, if they started a second season there'd be no where to end it.

HOTD was canceled because the artist of the manga has a weird schedule with putting out the mangas, and is focusing on his other work. Yes, HOTD is dead and will probably not go off of hiatus.

Meh, I dont know where you have seen that from. And what do you mean by that. Last episode left them off finding the rest of there Parents. the OVA was Drifters of the Dead, But there is much more story to it. I have no clue what they are doing. I have heard things from The Creator being very ill to other things like they are Working on it but have no story to it which is BS. But whatever, All I know is there will be a Season 2. Dont know when though.
