Haha, no that hasn't happened to me…yet.

I'm usually always too overcautious about these kinds of things; I tend to have an urge to burn a whole series down onto a DVD right after I download all of it. Although I did get a little angry at my Science teacher that deleted one of my ef ~ a tale of memories ~ bluray episodes on my USB mistaking it for the printer schedule a month ago, it was only about 350mb in size AND she wrote a note about giving me an extension in an oral for English [because she also deleted some parts of my speech along with the ep, haha, lucky I had a backup] so I didn’t get too angry. That reminds me, I should burn down some of my recent stuff soon….

Yeah, re-downloading would suck @$$, especially the slow speed and the huge size of it all D;

Edit:

Actually "deleting" the file is different from "formatting" your whole computer.

If you just "right click + delete" the file, it would appear in your "Recycle Bin" so you could "restore" the file. If you format your computer, BANG everything is gone...sorry you can't retrieve your files or anything that was on the computer before you formatted it. We usually always transfer everything off the computer before we format it.

Edit:

DVDs can only actually fit a little less than 4.5gigs, keep it at 4.3 and you'll be fine.

Yup...I understand exactly what you mean, and I also understand perfectly well when other people reply "just download it again", as if you could do that in one minute, or "just forget about it, grow up".

It really irritates me!

I do two things in order to save my stuff from accidents like that: First, the moment I download the things is save them in an external hard drive, and once I have around 4 GB on episodes I save it as data DVD disc. DVDs can hold up to 4.7 GB but I seriously suggest you to leave it at 4 GB, or maybe a little bit over, up to 4.2 GB...I'm telling you this out of personal bitter experiences as well.

Hope it helps.

Don't be so sad, I lost all my naruto episodes.

If you want my opinion, just start do other things, like draw, try drawing manga and anime, you can even buy one of those "how to draw manga" books. You can start a story, create oc's, editing your inuyasha images on paint or phoroshop...

There are a lot of things you can do related to anime, to show that your love it.

You can try cosplay as well, it's kinda expensive but you will have a lot of fun if you go to an anime convention with your friends.

Cheer up, and try to see the thing better ^_^

Sorry for my bad Engliah, I'm from Portugal.

I've had this happen to me too for my music collection. The tough part is that people don't realize how much of a pain it is and the time and effort it took to build up your collection. It's tough, but you will get over it with time, that is a guarantee, and your new collection will be bigger and better! The good thing about college is that most schools have blazing fast file sharing (DC++ on LAN is awesome!) so if you find someone with the same taste in anime that you do, you'll get all your stuff back in no time!

I understand your feelings.........Out here in India, rarely somebody actually understands what an anime means to a true anime lover. I'm a BIG fan of Inuyasha myself and its a pity that their Vcd's and Dvd's aren't available here legally. If u go to Japan and US, U'll find stacks of a million anime and manga collections....but hamare yahan anime is stiil an alien stuff aur bacche boodhe tom and jerry jaise silly cartoons dekhte hain....Chill man....this has happened to me two times....I lost all the theme video songs of all my favorite anime (about 23-25). You can still have their video and sound clips from bestanime.com. Also, download Youtube downloader and Flv player from download.com. Through Youtube downloader you can directly download videos from youtube. The videos are in flv format. So flv converter or player wud help....Don't let yourself down by comments from other people.....Japan, Europe aur US jaise highly developed nations are hooked on them. WHY THE HELL WON'T WE??.........We can't help it if our fellow Indians still like the kiddish Hungama TV, Nick, Pogo and Cartoon Network

hmm.. it hurts.. :D

it happened to me in the case of some games

try using some softwares

when my friend deleted some games , i searched for some softwares which can bring deleted files back. yeah u can bring back the dead ones on you computer.

when you delete some stuff, the system wont really wipe them off your hard disk but will just mark them that they are deleted. if you copy some new files the system will use that space similar to that of free (empty) space.

so if you dont fill more than 50% of your formatted hard disk you still have some chance (may be around 25%), so you can give it a try. you can find one such tool in tune-up utilities by the name 'undelete'.

Yeah, something similar to this has happened to me before, but it was on a smaller scale, I only lost about 14 episodes of anime on my laptop although it wasnt 14 episodes from the same anime, it was a mix of anime, though thats not half as bad as what you experienced.

I suggest saving all of it to a memory card or a flash drive, removable memory always helps.

..you know it's so horrible..

that kind of thing also happened to me..

for me that was the worst experience i'd encountered when downloading anime..

in my situation, it took more than a month before i complete the 6 sets of anime that i downloaded..

and when the computer was formatted,i lost all of my hardships..

..that was really horrible..i know how it feels..

i also cried a lot and i argued with my mother who formatted the computer..

aww you poor thing *confers* dont worry my otaku nakama, well i understand that your going to be busy with college and all but my advice is that when you have some spare time and you are able to sit in front of a computer, download it then save it on a dvd that way you can watch it on tv and a computer, i never experienced the same thing that happened to you but one time i deleted all my episodes of an anime that i dont even remember the name now because i got bored of the series.

still best of luck in retrieving your anime \(^.^)/

Yup that happened to me before.

Due to SHITTY BAD SECTORS in my hard drive

i lost

100 episodes of DBZ

2 Seasons of Pokemon

1 season of Naruto.

I was feeling terrible for a week (I didn't cried, i was just feeling bad for me LOLZ) but then i tried to forgot everything.

The best part of that was I already watched all the episodes (Except Naruto).

Hay buddy listen just watch them online becasue downloading all of them (your animé again is PATHETIC).

Just watch them online, you don't have any other choice.

Something like this has happened to me, but it was all of my anime photos instead of my videos. I had like 4000 Anime images all gone. I had to get them all back myself. It's easier to get videos than pictures cause all the episodes r there for u, but the images I needed were gotten from places that I had to search everywhere for. So just download them again from any fan site or search engine and Viola!.....Try downloading them from where u initially downloaded them from.

You're a college student and you cried over losing InuYasha episodes?

You're not missing out on much, trust me.

Tough love, but downloading them all is illegal. If you love them that much, and you're obviously old enough to get a part-time job, seems like it would be time to give back to the shows' creators and BUY these series, right?

(It might be obvious, but no...this has never happened to me as I bought all my anime. If you want to watch it for free, legally, then you might see if your local library stocks selected shows.)

you cried thta much over anime and you're going to college?

you should just buy them.

it would be better quality, too.

besides inuyasha is on t.v. almost everynight.

when i was thirtteen i had 140 some episodes of inuyasha and just deleted them as i watched them.

Never happened to me. Buy an external hard driver, you won't regret it. I can format my computer and not loose anything important.
