Sci-Fi manga is manga about the future or possible future. The first Sci-Fi manga was released in 1996 in Japan. It was a one-shot manga CINDERELLA BOY (MONKEY PUNCH) a brief discription:

"Ranma and Rella run a small detective agency, until one day they're bumped off after discovering a dark secret! Their lives are saved by some mad scientists, but not without some side-effects..."

Then comes Dr Slump written by the famous author of Dragon ball also came out 1980, happened to a hit and started the Sci-Fi revolution lasting till 1990s where tons of top hit sci-fi manga were released in Tokiyo.
