Question:
What is everyone's favourite DC Comics character? And why?

There are loads of characters, I can't even begin to list them!

Mine is Zatanna Zatara - she's powerful, yet not flawless, and her illusionist costume is cool. It's a shame she hasn't appeared in any films yet. She could have appeared in a Batman film, or even Constantine (two characters she's had relationships with in the comics.)

I've heard they may be making a film, but they will cast her as a teenager and make it more of a kid's film. How depressing! We already had Willow in Buffy, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, why another teenage kid with magical powers?

Funny that someone criticized DC but then brought up Dr Strange, since he's the cheesiest character of them all.

Anyway, Dr Fate has the coolest mask, and some cool powers.

Green Lantern has a great power, and I'd love to have a power ring. The whole concept of a ring being charged by a lantern/battery is a bit odd though.

I think Karate Kid (Val Armor) was often written well. Especially Superboy/LSH #231. And even Wolverine is obviously based on TimberWolf.

Persuader is the best villain of any century. And Validus is awesome (before the Darkseid fiasco).

Flash is just plain cool.

Cyborg was written VERY well at his introduction (haven't read T Titans in many years though) he was a great character.

Deathstroke the Terminator is a close second for best villain.

Batman has gone through so many phases. I don't like Frank Miller's, but he's had some great runs.

Power Girl is the sexiest of them all, and a bad azz.

I just love Harley Quinn. She is definitely the most fun. She's in the batman series. DC- Right? I don't know who Zatanna Zatara is. Guess I'm not too much of a Comics Freak.

Not sure if it is DC or some other comic but my favorite is Batman because he has no special powers. He simply is smart enough to use the technology available to him to gain an advantage on his enemies. The others are really cool, of course but I can't actually be any of the others, whereas I could actually be Batman someday.

Mal from the old Teen Titans!

(Just kidding... you'd have to read those comics to understand how lame Mal was. He was basically Robin without ANY abilities or gadgets.)

Gotta go for the Green Lantern. I like the fact that although he has a huge reservoir of power, it's his sheer will and determination that taps into it.

Plus he's a hero that has the courage to accessorise. How many heroes INSIST on wearing jewelry?

Batman, because he is one of DC's Main Icons in comic books & in other media including TV & Film, he is perhaps the most popular character ever on screen. He may not have superpowers, but iwht the gadgets he has & the skills & techniques he uses in his battle against crime, he is by far the best that anyone has ever seen.

Superman would be my favourite! why? I could relate to him on alot of things, I could understand where he is coming from. He was adopted so was I. He is an alien from another world and I could relate to him but not from another planet lol but feels alienated from others (my deafness). He is really humble person and use powers for the better and I am lot like him in that category. I don't have any superpowers like him if I could dream lol however, My hearing loss heightened my other senses so they can make up in the event of my loss of a sense. He will be always my favourite!

i'm going to be unoriginal and say batman. only bcause i read marvel and not dc, and there are very few dc characters that i actually know.

i just like the fact that batman is an ordinary (forgetting the billionaire bit) guy with a troubled past who's worked hard to get where he is today

The classic 'silver age' - and only true - Green Lantern, Hal Jordan! I've been a Lantern fan since I was a tiny kid and I first discovered Dc Comics. Hal has had it all, triumph, tragedy, loss, suffering - just fantastic! And now he's back - Fantastic!!

Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), he was strong, an artist, and he had the ring at his full control. He knew how to make the ring work for him. He was awesome. I know there are thousands of Green Lanterns (Alan Scott, Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kilowatt, and Guy Gardner to name a few), but Kyle Rayner was always my favorite because he knew the ring, he knew what it meant to be a Green Lantern. Batman and Superman are both cool too, but they were not my choice for this.

DC Comics characters are lame. You should see some Marvel characters. Especially Dr. Strange.

Hitman ismy favorite (ok Vertigo comics but still DC world)

A ordinary guy with Super powers - X-ray vision, Telepathy who carries on his old Job (assassin) on a whole bunch of new targets (super villains). Wise-cracks and chat up lines.... Gambling addiction and regular drinking hole....

altogether a "real" hero, (not for Kids)

as an old school DC lover...I have to say superman tops all characters for me...he's the one who started all this----beyond that...the original deadman...was incredable, original, and drawn by the best in the business ,Neal Adams,in the 80's I believe...so..as far as movies go, for me, the best characters would be...deadman, and, green lantern..followed by the most powerful hero of all..the flash, who is always under valued but has the most unstoppable power.....just imagine the effects.....josh

Batman definitely! Why? Well, cause He has not any superpowers, the Detective stories are just great, they make me wonder a lot of things! I just can't avoid getting exited when He appears all covered under darkness and we just can see his eyes! Damn Jim Lee made it AWESOME in HUSH!!!!!

I don't know if they still make these comic books, but my favorites were:

The Anal Invader

The c ock Smacker

The stinky beaver

I liked the way the anal invader would team up with the stinky beaver and they would say DP power!

The c ock smacker was a little violent, but I like the way he smacked it!

The Joker.

Your question asked for favourite characters, not heroes.

The Joker is just so psychotic, twisted, evil and downright hilarious. I just pray to any God's who are listening that they do him justice in the next movie.

The Martian Manhunter -- buttkicking powers and you gotta respect a guy (or martian) who can pull off wearing what he wears (underoos, cape, no shirt) and still be as secure as he is
