Looking for a new Anime thats kinda dark(or serious) or one thats dark yet kinda funny or cute at times?

I know i ask this alot, but now i think i have a better understanding of what i want. Here are some recent anime i have seen, and i hope to find more like them.

Yu Yu Hakusho



i know it's a kinda old anime, but still i believe it would suit well with your tastes. the art's not bad, there's a lot of action going on and i don't believe there are unnecessary fillers like the one in Naruto.



Summary:

Yusuke Urameshi was a normal middle school punk until he was hit and killed by a car, while saving a child. His selfless action earned him the right to gain his life back and serve as a detective of the spirit world, keeping the world of the living safe from a myriad of demons. But being reborn has its price: Yusuke must hatch a spirit beast that will develop according to his actions, and if he doesn't act in a good and honest manner , it will eat his soul. Can Yusuke protect the human and spiritworld and still manage to save himself in the process?

Dark and cute at times



Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (like 60% of the series is happy go lucky kid drama, but when the violence starts it's pretty insane)



R.O.D -THE TV- (it has some comedy in it)



Trinity Blood



Tsubase Chronicle (i'm pretty sure this one belongs here)



Trigun (the setting is fairly dark, but the protaganist is definitely not)



Dennou coil (this series has a lot of dark drama in it)



Getbackers (lots of funny moments in this one, but the overall tone is of a dark one. Highly recommend this series it's a classic)

Soul Eater. :D it is have been given a brilliant variety of action in an particularly astonishing way. The paintings is likewise very stable and unique, the character designs are very effective, i think of. there is in simple terms slightly romance, besides the shown fact that it is not precisely a considerable concentration. i come across it to be very humorous. And there are not fairly a brilliant variety of flashbacks, keep for the 1st 3 episodes that introduce the characters slightly, yet those are exciting. :3 And the plot is very easy yet very exciting.

ok the dark anime, legends of the overfiend (the first 2 movies, after that, they suck) bible black (hardcore pornographic), bastard, desert punk, twilight of the dark master. demon beast invasion, and angel blade.

the fun anime (action, adventure) appleseed, appleseed ex machina, vampire hunter D, vexxile, tokko, read or die, gurren lagan, outlaw star, cowboy bebop and kenya the prophecy

darker than black has some cute comedy in it but is mainly a serious dark anime, devilman has very serious dark stuff but not much comedy and violence jack is probably the darkest anime you will ever see

You listed most of my faves...so maybe you'll enjoy one of these?

I highly reccomend Umineko no Naku Koro ni...and watch it past the first episode arc (first three eps) because that's when it starts getting really crazy...and like Kuroshitsuji the servants aren't all that they seem...



Higashi no Eden

If you like action this one pretty much takes the cake. It will keep you on your toes every episode wondering what happens next. It's about a guy named Takizawa Akira who wakes up in Washington DC with no memory of who he is holding only a handgun and a mysterious phone that can grant it's masters every wish.

Where the plot is pretty much a generic one the characters are really fun to watch. It kind of plays on the lines between downright silly and badass. It's about a group of kids (technicians) who are paired up with weapons (who take human form) at a school to learn how to make their weapons better. If they can capture 99 corrupted souls and the soul of one witch then their weapon can become it's ultimate form.
