Question:
Was Boa Hancock a sex slave? One Piece?

Ok me and my cousin are having this huge discussion on wether Boa Hancock was raped by the Tenributo guys while she was a slave or if she was just a slave for labor. We have seen all the anime and read all the chapters and know Oda didn't specifically say anything to suggest that she was because it is kinda a kids show but I think he kinda inferred it. To me it makes sense that she was especially after seeing the clothes her and her sisters were wearing when they escaped in the anime. I wish I could just ask the author himself but considering that I cant i'm asking you guys on your opinions. To back up my cousins opinion about her not being raped he says that since she is the main character it would belittle her and the Celestial Dragons think to high of themselves to rape a little slave girl. Also if you think she wasn't raped because of the way she is around men and doesn't have a mental breakdown just remember that she's a main character and can control Haki so she's stronger than that so instead she looks down on them. So what's you opinion on this topic? Was she not raped during her slave days or was she raped and Oda just couldn't write it since its a shounen manga and lots of kids read it.

No, she and her sisters were not sex slaves. They were just slaves used for hard manual labor. That's why she and her sisters have a very deep loathing of the Celestial Dragons.

So, I would say she definitely wasn't raped or anything of that nature.

Also, Boa's not a main character, she's only a supporting character. The main characters of this series are only Luffy and his crew.

Obviously they were raped.... i would say for a long time!.... didn't u see the youngest of the 3 sisters broke down while reminiscing about their past.....like she "Literally" broke down!

People make it seem that OP world is clean and there isn't any rape....hell even any sex involved... '--_--

Oda doesn't have the time to show us all that.... This is not ******* Hentai!

Sad that almost all the people who watch OP lack common sense....

I know I am late, but you are clearly in the wrong, dude.

I don't think so, because the Celestial Dragons think too highly of themselves, that they wouldn't want to "rape" a little slave girl which they see as less than humans. From their perspective, slaves are dogs to abide their bidding, and a human (in this case, "God") doesn't "reproduce" with a dog.

Furthermore, Celestial Dragons do not require slave girls to deal with their sexual frustration, or sexual release. They either, marry each other to keep the blood-line pure, or chooses a female out of the commoners to marry, until they get bored of her and dispose her. For example, in Sabaody Archipelago Arc, during the "Zoro vs Celestial Dragon" scene, he chooses a unlucky girl as Lady 13, and when her fiancee intervenes, he shows no hesitation and guns him down.

Don't get me wrong. There is obviously sex involved in the OP world. However, "rape" in general, is excluded, since One Piece is a shounen, and a kid friendly show. You also have to consider the target audience...

Yes, this is a story about pirates and you would think that "rape" would be a common thing, but I don't think that Oda even thought about this. It's just way too dark. Rape, in general, is a worse way to go. In my opinion, if I were to be a girl and was forced to commit between, being raped or murdered, I would definitely choose dying. Rape is a long term suffering, which most victims cannot escape from, whether they try to move on in life, or end their suffering (suicide), it would still come to haunt them.

Hancock and her sisters, and also other slave girls, were used for labor purposes. If you didn't know, Robin was also a slave. She was forced to build a bridge in Tequila Wolf, later freed by the Revolutionaries.

I can understand Hancock's hatred for men. It is because slavery was her first hand experience with men, and that alone, made her see them in a bad light. Hancock, being the oldest out of the three sisters, had to endure everything for the sake of protecting Sonia and Mari, out of harm's way. She reminisce about the hell she had been through, upon looking at the "Claw of the Celestial Dragons" on her back, and despite of being "free", they cannot escape from the reality, of them once being a slave.

Unlike Hancock, Sonia and Mari aren't strong willed, in fact, props to Hancock for staying strong, so her sisters can feel the moment of ease. You do know that "break down" happens from other traumatic experiences, necessarily doesn't have to be "rape".

Okay, lets just say, there is "rape" involved, which means:

- Hancock and her sisters were raped by the World Nobles. Tragic.

- Nami probably whored her way up, until she met Luffy and the crew.

- Robin could have taken the initiative in using her body for protection. She was 8, and was already on the run from the World Government. Therefore, she might have had sex with her old crew members, whom she eventually ends up betraying, to protect herself (a form of rape).

- Vivi might have been forced to engage in sexual confrontation with men in Baroque Works, including Crocodile. Vivi is the princess of the country which BQ wants to take over, therefore, she willingly had sex (rape), in order to join the Organization. Right?

- Shouldn't Rebecca be raped and tortured? Or, forced into prostitution, or something? Considering that she is the granddaughter of King Riku, also known as, "traitor".

- What about Viola? Did she whore her way into joining the ranks of the Donquixote Pirates. In her wiki page, it says, "... and seemed to have earned Doflamingo's trust", does that mean Doffy was boning (rape) Viola every night, or something? "A trust cannot be built/ formed easily" - Me 2016 - 2016

- What was Monet to Doffy? She did betray the Riku family for Doflamingo. She was loyal, to the extent of sacrificing her own life, if Doffy commands. Was she getting the Doffy's "D" every night? Most likely. Doffy is secretly Will of D.

- Is Mihawk, off-screen, boning Perona?

- Does that mean Koala was raped by the World Nobles at the age of 11? I mean she was a slave, just like the Boa sisters. Note: Hancock started as a slave when she was 12, and her slavery ended at the age of 16.
