Question:
About the manga series Yotsuba and 4Chan...why is it that "rule 34" isn't applied this this mangas character?

Rule34 states that "if something exists, there is porn for it."

THat means if ANYTHING...exists, in this case, a manga, SOMEONE can and will draw hentai of it.

Now I know there might be some that exists...but in general, 4Chan does not like drawing hentai of Yotsuba...or whoever that green haired girl with the 4-leaf clover is...

Now this is 4CHAN we are talking about, these people will draw hentai and make a fetish out of ANYTHING...so therefore, when I went to TvTropes wiki, or other sites talking about Yotsuba, I found out that Yotsuba's protagonist is the ONE and ONLY character that the MAJORITY of 4Chan is unwilling to draw anything fetishistic or hentai or whatever on...

WHY??
Also, I am positive that the reason is NOT because the girl is underage...because 4Chan have sprouted out a lot of lolicon art and most people there are fine with it...so whats so special about Yotsuba?

PS- is the series good? It looks kidna cute

Haha, that's an interesting catch you've found! Of all the things there are to dislike about 4chan, I rather respect their unwillingness to fetishize Yotsuba.

First of all, being their mascot, I guess they hold her in some kind of special light and thus treat the character with more discretion. But I think the modesty is due mostly to the fact that the manga she comes from is the epitome of innocence. It's so pure and adorable you wouldn't believe it. Yotsuba is not presented as a sex object at all - just a cute, crazy, energetic young girl.

I highly recommend reading it (it's only a manga, not an anime). It's called "Yotsuba&!" and it's from the creator of Azumanga Daioh - so you know it's bound to be hilarious.

However, I really hate to say it... but... I highly doubt she's a complete exception to that rule. I don't plan to, and I completely don't suggest it... but if you search hard enough, I'm sure someone, somewhere, at some point has... well, yeah...

I have no idea what the deal is with that and 4Chan, but for you're last question, I agree. It's a great series. I'm not one to laugh out loud or cry if I read or watch something funny or sad, but Yotsuba&! was the first manga I read where I was actually laughing hysterically. It's great and soooooo worth getting into.

She's loved as a mascot so people don't go around posting rule 34 of her. The only way it's posted is if you make a thread specifically asking for it. You'll get at least 10~ pictures and 30~ people protesting that Yotsuba is a mascot and mascots should not be demeaned. She's no exception to the rule, it's just that very few people follow it.

I guess Johan from the manga Monster was pretty evil. He was made to not "feel" anything (remorse or guiltiness) So it doesn't bother him when he does something evil to someone else. For example (***POSSIBLE SPOILER?****) He led a little boy who's mother is already dead(but he tell him that she's alive), and takes him to a bad part of the city (prostitutes, gangs[mafia's?], dealers] and he witnesses a man doing his "business" with a prostitute and it traumatizes him. Johan meant for this to happen so that the boy would commit suicide. Speaking of suicide, he also teaches little boys a game in which they jump off from the top of buildings and if you live you win. Oh yeah and he kills people and that sounds pretty evil to me!XD Monster is one of my favorite mangas but it's been a while since I've read it, so sorry if I missed something. I don't watch much anime but there was "School Days" and Makoto has a love Triangle...ummm or maybe octagon? Well...let's just say that he has no self control ;) But the cheating causes 1 of the girls to go mentally crazy(which you'll see at the end of the anime). Oh and Makoto's friend is messed up too! ***Spoilers**** He rapes Katsura(the one that goes crazy)...oh but she gets her revenge at the end...well sort of...x} But I don't know if Makoto counts as "evil"? He's messed up though, that's for sure. Sorry, I think I misread your question....Did I answer it right? I'm feeling a little ditzy today :| Well evil would be someone who kills off my favorite character ;) haha but seriously, I think that the 2 examples I gave you kind of sum up what evil means to me. Someone who doesn't think or feel remorse and worse is when the person actually feels amused by hurting others(whether it be physically or mentally).

It may be because Yotsubato is not as well-known as others...

Hm, it seems you have stumbled upon a oddly-placed paradox.

As for your last question, yes; it is a great series.

Evil is only what the ignorant masses of society deem it. WARNING: SPOILERS One Piece- Pirates are considered evil: Why? Well many of them (i cannot say most as it is unclear) do "bad" things such as pillaging, killing, and all those other things. Yet we see many marines do the same things. Why are these Marines not considered evil to many people, but people who are just foolish? Because the masses are never told about them. They are covered up (Crocodile) and the masses are only feed the story about Pirates doing many evil things. Of course the few who see and experience the kindness of some pirates, and the cruelty of some marines are the only ones to understand. Naruto- Who is evil? Of course you're thinking: Orochimaru, Akatsuki, Hawk, Zabuza, Gaara. Well i think it's safe to say that Orochimaru is what most normal people would consider evil, as he "toyed" with human lives but i don't really care much for him. Zabuza was a mercenary/former seven swordsman/revolutionary/assassin who was hired to kill that old guy xD and of course he fought and almost killed Kakashi, who was saved by that darn team 7.And then he of course used Haku, who died for him. Now ur thinking, what a evil guy. Well if u think about it would Zabuza be considered evil in other pretenses? There are many mercenaries in the ninja world and some are even used by the major villages (er akatsuki mostly). Hawk are just some wannabes so i'm leaving them out. Gaara was pretty misunderstood so forgive him please. Akatsuki. Evil? World Domination? Now there are some questionable personalities within Akatsuki (Hidan, Kakuzu, Kisame, Uchiha Madara) but what was Nagato's goal? World peace. If u think about it, he was jsut another one of those guys with a noble intention but had no fear of dirtying his hands on the way. Evil is also introduced in that tense, as many people must do evil to gain the good. Bleach- Who's evil!?!??! THE HOLLOWS OF COURSE!! ^^ Of course whose opinion is this? Soul Society. (And i guess some humans) If u remember the fight between Byakuya and the 7th Espada (Forgot his name) before he dies the espada yells at byakuya and the rest of the shinigamis for hunting down hollows, who eat human souls. But who gave them this assignment he asks. So pretty much the evil can be disputed both ways, and our views r blocked as we think "Hollows eat human souls, wait we're humans, ew they're evil!" That comes back to my original point, IGNORANT MASSES OF SOCIETY ^^ History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi- Who's evil in this? Ragnorack, YOMI, YAMI. Mhmmm. Well really in this Ragnorack was a weak street gang, so i'm leaving them out. Now many say YAMI r evil for walking down the path of death Now Kenichi and the rest of the "good" guys walk down the path of life. (Btw i'm not refering to Sei and Do styles) Who's evil? Yami of course! They oppose our ways and also are not very noble! :O Well seeing as how most of the common people are on their side, many would also think that YAMI is "evil". of course u are all saying "Killing and hurting ppl is evil!" Yes we can agree on that in RL, but this is manga/anime we're dealing with, while in manga/anime there are many RL situations. Katekyo Hitman Reborn- Who is evil? (Varia, Millefiore) Ok this one is very disputed. First off, they r all in the mafia and what's the sterotypical mafia? Guys in suits with machine guns doing dirty business with italian guys While Tsuna is a very kind person, he is still the future 10th boss. The Varia are the elite vongola assassins who try to kill Tsuna and the 9th boss. They are considered evil as they betray the vongola, attempt to kill Tsuna and his guardians, and have no care of the life of others. Well in the end, the Varia are punished and they are forced to go back to the Vongola. Evil? I don't think so. Not nice? Sure. Now the Millefiore. Who's evil u think? Byakuran? Glo Xina? Genkishi? Jack? Ginger Bread? Now who's the leader? Byakuran of course. What has he done? Damaged Uni? "Killed" Mukuro Rokudo? Nearly wiped out the Vongola, and it's allies? Taken over every single alternate future? Sure these can be considered evil. But to who? Well the rest of the families aren't nice either. They're the mafia! The Millefiore are just a very strong family who dominated the other ones. It is just because Tsuna and his guardians (and some others) view this as wrong. Now let's get back to answering your original question What would you consider "evil" in an anime/manga series? From my analysis, i would deem 4 things 1. Evil is usually something to do with overuse of violence 2. Evil is decided by the masses, or by the rulers that feed them the "facts" of what evil is. 3. Evil can be found in good, and Good can be found in Evil. 4. Evil usually opposes the main character's views.
