Question:
Why do people hate Naruto, or anime in general?

I know one reason why people hate Naruto, it is the way he (and the other characters) are dressed because people would think ninjas would be dressed in all black and have masks. Also, I can understand that the first 20 episodes or so of the Dubbed Naruto were very poorly acted, but it got better as it progressed in the series. Plus, I noticed most of the people who hate Naruto have only seen one episode or just took one quick look at it and suggested "Oh, he looks stupid so he's gay and the show must be retarded," and usually the haters are referring to the first episodes of Naruto (Dubbed). But, also the Anime Haters are just crazy in my opinion. Now I can understand the Adults who have never heard of the word "Anime" in there life and refer to it as just a regular cartoon, but it's really more than that. Anime can be used as "cartoon", because anime IS just Japanese Cartoons/Animation. Now, some of the Dubs can be really dumb, but the subs are usually the greatest. Most of the haters have only seen the dubs, not the subs. I'm just wondering, why do people hate on anime???

Not everyone has the same opinion. I hate Naruto because I do. But the first episodes of Naruto in my opinion were the best.

The anime haters question is very obvious. If everybody had the same opinion on everything the world would be a boring place

As for Naruto. Its overrated to the max. And nowhere else in the world hypes it as much as the US. If I sat down and watched an episode of Naruto I'd find myself bored and sometimes a whole episode will finish without anybody progressing. There is no satisfaction in watching it. Everybody only has about 2-4 moves and its so inconsistent, one episode will be intense and then the next will be a flashback or filler episode. Stuff like that pisses me off

Watch 13 episodes of Elfen Lied and compare that to 200+ eps of Naruto. Elfen Lied gets straight to the point. Yet manages to tweak every one of your emotions

I will give you a "Naruto hate" explanation of my own opinion. See? An eyewitness account. The thing about Naruto is...it is too mainstream than it really deserves. Too much hype, too many...ravenous twelve year-olds calling themselves "otaku" for watching it (ah, I pity all who use the word "otaku"). I digress.

Let us see now. That is true, various people "hate" anime. The answer to that is that anime, in general, could be seen as stereotypical and childish, like "cartoons". However, anyone who has ever watched an anime will tell you that they do, in fact, carry mature situations. It seems that people, especially those raised watching "Western" cartoons find it hard to submit themselves to the anime subculture. They cannot seem to get over the fact that, yes, "anime" is moving pictures, not real people. As for dubbing and subbing, it really depends on which group is responsible for it. Besides, you can never fully get an exact replica of the original version, because of the iminent language barrier and various cultural differences.

Everyone has different preferences and opinions, however, so everything varies in the end.

I hope that this may have provided some clarity on the matter.

Well I don't HATE narato... it's Just don't really like it all that much. I find it too, ummm what could the word be... no clue.

I really think anime-haters are really insane... I have a friend who only saw one episode of BLEACH (english dub version) and I loved it, she on the other hand, was like what the big deal? Then I've tried to get her to watch some FullMetal Alchemist but she said "I hate Anime...." I guess that some people just don't want to try Foron things or they only will try "gossip shows." That is the only show that she likes to watch... also the shows like Degrassi. I think one reason that she hates it is because she "loses her friends" in anime, so she might find it a problem

I personally, just don't like people who say they hate something, when they don't even know what they are talking about

I Personally love naruto i'm not obsessed or running around saying i'm otaku. At times it's very childish, long, and some episodes are boring. The story also takes along time to progress. But when shippuuden started i was blown away with it yeah still long but the story took off from there. People can hate but everyone has their own opinion.

As far as people hating anime They think all of it is very childish but not all of them realize how un childish it is. The probably only know of showslike pokemon and hamtaro, but sit them down for Elfen Lied or a movie like Akira it'll change some minds.

Because people think that its childish and that they think that people who watches anime should go back to reality. In general, this is the meanest fact that I've heard. Telling people to go back to reality or get a life is just wrong. I do both the reality and imaginitive life.

Anyways, people don't like Naruto because that its mostly aimed towards the kids in general. Some of the fans aren't fond of the development of the main characters. They don't like Sasuke because he's turn evil and he's emo. They don't like Naruto because his one liner is annoying and he's the annoying determined type. They don't like Sakura because she's ugly.

I read the manga. And, this is the general facts that they hate about Naruto. The story and plot is too slow developed. They talk through out the whole series, barely any fighting. Also, the next series, Naruto Shippuden is about finding Sasuke. It takes them too long to find a single character.

Also, some fans don't like Orochimaru because he's a child molester. Some don't like Gaara who barely fights while his sand does everything else.

Also, this is the stupidest fact ever: ninjas should wear black and the characters in Naruto are wearing multi-colored clothes. They also don't use the weapons: the star shaped weapons or the kunais. Naruto is basically a type of supernatural/fantasy type of ninja anime and manga. Of course its gonna go against the rules.

That's what I've heard.

I'm a neutral fan to Naruto. I either don't like it or love it.

I don't hate Naruto, I like the show, it's ok.

But I just have the problem with the Narutards, who see it as the best anime ever, and they ruin Anime for everyone else. So those two pretty much are linked together. I like Anime, but I prefer reading Manga, and also I hate most Anime shows I've watched dubbed, I prefer it subbed.

Here are my opinions:

Some people hate Naruto, because:

1. It is not a very superb/great/intelligent made anime, but why are its fans hyping like it is the best one, (why even an old anime like Samurai X has better moves and story lines). In short, it is overrated.

2. Some anime fans do not like an overhyped Naruto fanbase to be a good representation of anime fans in general, (saw these guys at the arcades cosplaying naruto characters, they more look like products of a commercialized anime than real fans to me).

3. And ninja's are supposed to be cool, like Hanzo Hattori or Ibuki, Jubei Kibagami, Hiei..but why are the Naruto ninjas, a lil comedic (some whiny and noisy), sure ninjas have some light, funny moments (like in Ninja Cadets), but too much of it ruins the serious ninja mystique.

Why some people hate anime in general:

1. They think it is generally meant for kids, and some parents get uneasy when their adolescent child still watches anime with great fervor because they think he or she is becoming nerdy or geeky. Thoughts like, "he needs to socialize more", "he should be into sports", "he needs to go out more", "he will lose friends", "they might think he is weird or different and will make fun of him", come to parents minds.

2. Anime, sad to say, still has a bad reputation to the general moral public (who generalizes easily). They tend to link anime with porn, sex and violence, child abuse and child molestation, hentai (sex) games, pedophiles etc. And they usually attack anime with this aspect and shun the good ones.

3. Some people are too loud when they voice out their taste and preferences. Instead of just letting it be, they bash out on what they don't like and assert that their taste is better (some even have a racist attitude towards anime). Like a blonde sassy girl who goes "ewwww" when she sees an anime fan cosplaying as an anime character.

4. Some people are just too tired or lazy to learn or appreciate new things and stick to their cherished beliefs. These are the people who, even though they do not hate anime usually, tend to be hard to persuade when given a chance to appreciate anime that it also has its good sides.

I hated naruto at first and it was because it looked kiddy, then i started getting into it at it got WAY better. most animes improve over time, and thats why i watch every naruto episode out!

as for anime haters in general, i think they just think its for geeks, and weirdos, which is kinda true i guess, but i watch anime and i dont think im a weirdo....

Maybe because its foreign, and it may not be that, when they watch the anime, your right, sometimes the acting is bad.

Or it could be that the people always hear people talking about anime and say how great it its and may be thinking like " what the hell are you talking about, you live in america you idiot, watch american shows."

It might be something like that.

Or another thing is when they watch it, they think its dumb that the anime doesn't go by their perspective or something, and don't give it a chance.

Its either those, or the people are racist, and don't like having shows that weren't made in america.

I used to honestly hate naruto/anime because i never really bothered to watch it, i guess. Now i love it (mainly Sauske ^__^ hehe) I just assumed it was for little kids. But its a little more complicated i guess.

And for anime..i just didnt care until a good friend of mine presented me with Fruits Basket last summer. From then on i've been hooked!! Now im into anime, manga, and all the design that goes into it. Its alot of hard work!!

Americans in general just don't give a dam about or aren't open minded to entertainment outside of America...especially when it's Asian. Give them something stereotypical and it's okay, but something different that is not stereotypical, they just get mind boggled. If you just gave your average American a Japanese music CD...how many would even bother to listen to it with an open mind??

They just don't understand why people like anime. they don't need to either.

True anime fans will feel what other anime lovers feel...

I personally can't stand Naruto because of the fans. I've watched the show and it's not horrible, in fact, I kind of like it. It's the fantards that annoy me and ruined the show for me. I liked it at first.

As for anime haters in general, I usually find people think anime is 'nerdy' and they think it's for kids, because it's animated, which obviously isn't true. I mean, watch Elfen Lied and try and tell me that's for kids, seriously. It's usually people who haven't given it a chance.
