A friend of mine that is fan of Star Wars, said that the Galactic Empire could defeat any single planet, but there is one it wouldn't the earth because we have United States.

USA has the largest army in the world, it has nukes to destroy a planet many times (lol at Deathstar which needs a lot of time to destroy a planet), the US can easily conquer and solo all the world, even if they teamed up together to fight it.

So I think it is logical that the Galactic Empire wouldn't be capable of defeating the USA, the most powerful civlization and nation in both real life and fiction.

You really think that any country on the Earth can defeat an army that can bombard us from space? They can tow asteriods into place and just nudge them towards the planet and kill billions without ever putting themselves in firing range.

So what if the Deathstar needs time to charge up, we have no technology that can actually reach it intact. All space shuttles and nukes will be shot down as soon as they get into orbit.

The chances of a United Earth Army at our current technological stage defeating the Galactic Empire using the technology implied in Star Wars is absolutely zero.
