Please Introduce me to Batman!
I know this sounds stupid, since about EVERYONE knows Batman. I'm 13 years old and I really never shown an interest in any superhero. But, a few days ago, I started watching Batman Under the Red Hood Movie with my brother and Loved it. The plot and cartoon drawing was amazing. But I also have a bunch of unanswered questions:
1. How did Batman become Batman?
2. Why are there like 5 Robins?
3. Why is the Joker so...insane?
Thanks for answering this. Also are there any Batman recommendations preferably cartoons. Oh and I am a bit shallow when it comes to the drawing style of the cartoons. I don't like any animated film that is old . Oh and is there a continuation to Batman Under the Red Hood, a sequel maybe?? Thank you :)

1. His parents were murdered in an alley one day by a thief. He was there and saw the entire thing. Shortly afterwards he left Gotham for 12 years to learn science and martial arts. On his return he tried to fight crime, but it wasn't working. A bat crashed through his window and he was reminded of his lifelong fear of bats. it was then that he decided he needed to use fear to control the criminals of Gotham and became Batman.

2. The first Robin Dick Grayson left. He wanted to be his own man. The second Robin died. After the events of Final Crisis, Batman was presumed dead, and the third Robin left. Stephanie Brown appeared briefly as the fourth Robin before dying. The current Robin is Bruce's son Damian.

3. The closest thing we have to an origin story is his flashback from A Killing Joke. But it's from his own mind so who knows if it's true. He was originally a comedian, not a very successful one. His wife was pregnant and they were broke. He agreed to do a job with the mob, but his wife died the morning of the job. This job was at a chemical plant. Batman showed up, chased him, and he fell into a vat of chemicals. When he came out his skin was white and his hair green. Crazy from there on out.

There is no sequel for Batman Under the Red Hood. Batman the animated series, from the early 90s, while almost 20 years old is still the best Batman series ever made.
-_- nope

1. Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered right in front of him when he was young by a mugger. Once he crew up he sought training and decided to become Batman to make sure no one would have to endure what he went through.

2. Because of the DC Relaunch http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/the-new-52/ , they say that the Robin position was an internship. But anyway, Bruce found certain kids that he thought had the potential of being his side kick. The first one was Dick Grayson, a kid out of a family of acrobats from a circus. His parent's were killed in an incident. Dick grew up and decided to become Nightwing. The second robin, Jason Todd, and the 2nd Red Hood, came off the streets. He is the only Robin who has died. Bruce met him when he caught caught him trying to steal the rims off his car. The third is Tim Drake, who would eventually becomes Red Robin. The fourth Robin was temporary since it was Tim's girlfriend and she filled in for him while he was off duty. The fifth is Bruce's son himself, Damian Wayne.

3. Originally, the Joker was a man that was a chemical plant engineer, but quit his job to become a stand-up comedian. He failed at this and agreed to rob the plant with two other guys. Batman chased him down and he fell into some chemicals and came out with pale skin, red lips, green hair, and had uncontrollable laughter.

And a piece of advice. If your interested in Batman comics this is a great time to get into them. DC is relaunching 52 series including Batman, which means the series goes back to issue #1. Here's all the info you need http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/the-new-52/ . And I don't know if they're will be another Red Hood movie.

1.) Late one night, after eight-year-old Bruce intended on sitting through a show, him and his parents were walking home late. Thomas Wayne (Bruce's father) insisted on taking a shortcut through a back alley to get home. There they ran into a mugger who shot and killed both Bruce's parents while Bruce could only watch. Feeling responsible for his parent's deaths, Bruce left Gotham City for twelve years and trained himself to become a top scientist and trained with ninja's to become a master of the martial arts. After majoring in all forms of science and martial arts, Bruce returned to Gotham to stop crime. But failed. One day, a bat crashed through Bruce's window and scared him deeply. As you should know, Bruce has been a victim of chiroptophobia (fear of bats) his whole life. It was then that he understood what he had to do to stop evil, become fear. So he became the very thing he feared the most. With this, The Caped Crusader was born. Paradoxically, Batman has brought out the best and the worst of Gotham. How has he brought out the worst you ask? A hero is not a hero without a villain, because of this, Batman's presence creates monsters such as the Joker and the Riddler.

2.) Dick Grayson was the first Robin. Dick and Bruce were inseparable through most of Dick's tenure as Robin. However, once Dick became an adult, he went on to do his own thing. So he became Nightwing, protector of Gotham's sister city Bludhaven. Jason Todd, second Robin, is dead via the Joker. Tim Drake left once he became an adult and became Red Robin, much like Dick. Stephanie Brown was a female Robin. The contemporary Robin is Bruce's biological son, Damian Wayne.

3.) The Joker's backstory is very mysterious. He feel into a chemical vat and came out a clown. Some say it was the chemicals that got into his brain and made him crazy while others say it was the failure of his dream career as a comedian and the death of his child and wife that made him bent on revenge. Myself? I think it's the latter.

There is no sequel to Under the Red Hood. The story was told with one. Batman: The Animated Series is very old now and no longer as popular but it's still AMAZING. It puts Adam West to shame. That series definitely does Batman justice. Truthfully, all the Batman series are great but I recommend you should watch Batman: The Animated Series first. You can buy seasons of it on Amazon for anywhere between 20 and 30 dollars. Great deal. I love Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker.

1: Bruce Wayne's parents were killed by criminals in front of him, after which, he swore to avenge his parents and rid the city of it's criminal scum in order to spare it's citizens from the pain he suffered. He chose the persona of a bat to inspire fear in his adversaries.

2: there are 4 robins. The first was Dick Grayson, an acrobat in the circus act: the Flying Graysons. His parents were killed in an accident where the wires snapped and they fell to their death. Bruce Wayne happened to be attending the show and took Grayson under his wing since he understood his pain. He eventually outgrew the Robin persona and became his own hero: Nightwing. He was soon replaced by the troubled Jason Todd. Bruce Wayne waned to help him and so trained him to become Robin. He was soon killed by the Joker. the 3rd Robin was Tim Drake, who had also attended the show where Dick Grayson's parents died, he saw Bruce and Grayson on TV and recognized an acrobatic move and deduced his identity. He then came to Bruce with this information believing that batman could not exist without a Robin. Bruce hesitantly agreed on the condition that he train for several years until he was deemed ready. His father eventually found him out and made him retire as Robin. His girlfriend Stephanie Brown then filled his place as the fourth Robin, under the condition that she would be fired if she made a single mistake. She did and sought redemption by activating one of Batman's "war games" scenarios, which was designed to put one of his alter egos: Matches Malone, in charge of the entire criminal underworld, however things went horribly wrong. and Black Mask took control instead of Malone. It was around this time that Tim Drake convinced his father to let him become Robin once again.

3. It is unknown why the Joker's mental health is SO incredibly unstable, as his origin is a mystery. There are several different origin stories about him, but none have been confirmed to add a sense of mystery to the character.

4: a good place to start is the 2005 film Batman Begins and 2008 film The Dark Knight. they are both brilliant depictions of Batman, and it is friendly to newcomers.

1.Watch Batman Begins. His parents are murdered by a criminal. Batman actually used to fear bats but decided to use them a his little motivation and overcomes his fears eventually. (No Idea Why)

This is shown in the Batman Begins Movie.

2.What? I'm guessing its because the Robins keep retiring for some reason.

3.Because according to the dark knight, his father cut his cheeks? I don't know.
