Do you mean AniDB.net (short for Anime Data Base)?
http://anidb.net/
AniDB is just a synopsis / information site just like ANN & MAL:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/
http://myanimelist.net/
What makes AniDB different from those other 2 groups is that AniDB does provide links to the fan-groups who are subbing / dubbing (yes there are fan-dubs) certain series.
Just search up your series of interest, & scroll to the middle of the page (right above the episode #'s), and you can see all the fan-groups working on that series, which language they are subbing / dubbing into, & how many episodes they've progressed.
From there click on the Subbing group name to get linked to their info page. You can see their website, forum, IRC channel, & other Anime series they have worked on. Just click the website link for that specific group, and you can then find out where that group makes their releases (via torrent, html website, IRC channel, etc.).
--------------------
Example: Great Teacher Onizuka:
http://anidb.net/a191
Scrolling to middle shows 6 fan-groups who have subbed GTO into 5 languages & dubbed it into 2 other languages.
Just click the fan-group names, to get to their info page & their websites. And then find where they make their releases.
