Billy Batson was specifically chosen to become Captain Marvel because as a child he was less likely to be corrupted by the power as was Teth Adam/Black Adam.

However, Billy/Captain Marvel can be mind-controlled (both Mr. Mind and the Grey Man have done so in the past), and by other powerful forces of magic (such as when the Thunderbolt's wish made most heroes turn evil in the service of the Humanite).

There was a story, I believe it was in DC Comics Presents ANNUAL #3 from 1984, that had Billy say "Shazam" and Dr. Sivana pushed him out of the way of the magic lightning bolt stealing the powers for himself (he even had a green version of the traditional Captain Marvel costume and called himself Captain Sivana).

The only times I can recall Captain Marvel going evil was when the Seven Deadly Sins attacked him (forcing their essences into him) and when Mr. Mind possessed him. Otherwise, I don' think it's happened.

captain marvel has no known weaknesses like kryptonite. if he is badly hurt he turns back into billy batson, thats the closest thing to a weakness he has.
