I'm the type to love comedy in the anime they watch so if you need a laugh here are some good ones.

Angel Beats -action / comedy / school life

Confined to purgatory angels must fight for their future. Yuri the combative leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen a.k.a SSS an organization which fights against God for the cruel fate that has befallen its members is pitted against Tenshi a chairperson of the student council for the world after death. Armed weaponry and supernatural powers clash with high school as the chosen battlefield in the afterlife. Otonashi a boy who has awakened with no memory of his former existence must come to grips with this brave new world.

[This one is my favorite. It may sound serious but the characters are often pulling stunts that crack me up! XD]

Baka And Test: Summon the Beast – romance / comedy / fantasy / school life / 13 episodes

At the start of the school, students are academically sorted by entrance exam test grades. The higher the grades, the higher the class, and the better the benefits. In this case, Class A is filled with the highest-scoring students; therefore, their classroom was filled with many prestigious items (air conditioners, fancy seats, laptops, a free snack bar, etc.), while the state of Class F is the complete opposite of that, representing the "bottom of the barrel" amenities. This academy has something special, where all the students manage to call forth Avatars. On the day of the placement test, an intelligent girl named Mizuki Himeji suffers from a fever and is unable to complete her test, hence her reining in a score of zero. As a result, she is pigeonholed into Class F together with Akihisa Yoshii. Akihisa, who dreams of the day when the academy would no longer be divided by grades, pitches an idea to his class to rule over the higher-level classes by doing a Summoned Being War for both Mizuki's sake and to get more and more privileges.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya -comedy / sci-fi

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya follows the high school life of Haruhi Suzumiya, a young and very active high school girl, and those who are caught up in her antics. While Haruhi is the central character to the plot, the story is told from the point of view of Kyon, one of Haruhi's classmates.

Kyon is an ordinary freshman high school student who has recently given up his fantasies of espers, time travelers, and aliens as he left middle school. When he chooses to speak to Haruhi, he unwittingly sets off a chain of events which drag him into surreal situations; he is drawn further into a world eerily like the fantasies he had just managed to outgrow, with Haruhi at its center.

Slayers – adventure / comedy / fantasy

Our Heroine of the Story starts with Lina Inverse, a powerful sorceress who steals treasure from Bandits and Thugs. Until a Swordsman named Gourry Gabriev comes along and saves her from the bandit Fangs (Which Lina can handle herself). He then agrees that he will be Lina's bodyguard. Lina gets annoyed when Gourry makes fun of her Underdeveloped Body. Then comes a Chimera named Zelgadiss looking for Lina for the Philosopher stone hidden in the Orihalcon Statue. Later, Zelgadiss joins Lina in her adventure along with Gourry and the Justice freak seyruun sorcery Princess Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun. Together this group of talented oddballs battle against the demonic race and even save the world with all of the collateral damaged caused along the getting pinned on Lina.

This anime has several seasons each about 26 episodes long. It also has several movies and OVAs.

-Fist of the North Star- this is like Berserk's daddy. The main character (Kenshiro) pretty much does throughout the series what Gutts was doing on the 1st episode. The anime is like 200+ episodes. But in 2003 they release an OVA (New Fist of the North Star) of 3 episode (you don't have to have watched the original anime to watch this).

-Hellsing- The only way this could have been created would've been for Gungrave, Trigun, Bersek, & Vampire Knight to have had an orgy.

-Trinity Blood- Hard to explain. . . just watch the 1st episode and you'll understand-- or just watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=GEUvFm3O1MQ

I almost forgot.

Guin Saga: The Crown Prince of Parros, & his sister Rinda's kingdom is conquered. They manage to escape for a little while, & are rescued by a warrior with no memory of is past, and only has his fighting instincts. These anime's fight are not as bloody as Berserk or F.O.T.N.S., but are much more epic.

Claymore- In this world humans are often killed/eaten by monsters called Yoma. The Organization creates Claymores (also called "Silver Eyed Witches) to kill the Yoma. Claymores are humans who were implanted with yoma flesh & blood. Yomas & Claymores have Yoki Auras; by drawing on their Yoki Claymores can became stronger, but their bodies & minds become more Yoma-like (If they draw-out their Yoki to much they can hit a point-of-no-return, & became Awaken Beings.) They create only female Claymores, because male Yoma are far more violent/savage then female Yoma, so male Claymore became Awaken Beings much, much faster then females. (P.S. this is as bloody & violent as Berserk)

Any of the "Tales of. . ." Anime- Like Code Geass & Berserk they are allot like Greek Tragedies. I would suggest you star with Tales of Phantasia, & then Tales of Symphonia (which is a prequel to Phantasia)

I'm a fan for Comedy/Romance Animes and I know some that only has 26 or 24 episodes

These are the only animes that I know: (the summaries are pretty short)

1. Kaichou Wa Maid Sama! (The Student Council President is a Maid!) (24 episodes)

Summary:

Ayuzawa Misaki has a secret: she is working part-time at a Maid Restaurant. But she couldn't tell that to the school because she's the class president in Seika Academy. Misaki's image in the school is that all the boys are scared of her and Misaki likes only the girls. Misaki hates boys because her father left them when they were just a little kid. But later on, Usui Takumi knew her secret. And by that, will Usui tell her secret to the school??

2. Special A (26 episodes)

Summary:

Hikari, when she was little, was taught by her father some wrestling techniques, and when a boy named Kei challenged her, Hikari was defeated. Hikari was pretty angry because nobody defeated her in any challenges but Kei. And when Hikari got older, she selfishly asked her father to enroll her to Kei's school just to beat him. But the truth is, Kei has some feelings for Hikari...

3. Fruits Basket (26 episodes)

Summary:

When high school student Tohru Honda's mother died in a car accident, Tohru begins living in a tent and supporting herself. That is, until she finds a home in the least likely of places, inhabited by her classmate Yuki Sohma and his cousins Shigure and Kyo. The Sohmas however, live with a curse. Thirteen members of the family are possessed by spirits of the Chinese zodiac and turn into their zodiac animal when hugged by the opposite gender, are weak, or when under stress. When Tohru discovers the Sohmas' secret, she promises not to tell and is allowed to keep living with them. The Sohma's curse, however, is deeper and darker than Tohru realized, but her presence soon becomes a large, positive influence on those possessed by the zodiac. She sets out to break the curse, and on the way, meets and discovers each of the Sohma's vengeful zodiac spirits. Each has a different personality, just like the animals in the Chinese Zodiac. Tohru's existence changes the Sohma clan's lives forever...

4. Ouran High School Host Club (26 episodes)

Summary:

Haruhi Fujioka is a scholar student at the prestigious Ouran Academy, a fictional high school located in Bunkyō, Tokyo. Looking for a quiet place to study, Haruhi stumbles upon the Third Music Room, a place where the Ouran Academy Host Club, a group of six male students, gathers to entertain female "clients". During their first meeting, Haruhi accidentally knocks over and breaks an antique vase valued at ¥8,000,000 (US$80,000 in the U.S. English manga)[1] and is told to repay the cost in service to the club. Haruhi's short hair, slouching attire and gender-ambiguous look cause her to be mistaken by the hosts for a male student. The hosts all agree that Haruhi would be a good host, thus making her join the host club. Ultimately she agrees to join the Club as a host herself (dressed as a male) in order to pay off her debt.[2] She agrees to join since she does not mind hosting as long as she can pay the debt off faster. The hosts do later find out that she is, in fact, a girl. They keep this a secret, so no one will be able to tell. The Ouran Private Academy encompasses kindergarten to twelfth grade (along with a university as well). Most students come from wealthy families, but in special cases, merit scholarships are granted to exceptional students from a lower income bracket. The school's unofficial motto is "Lineage counts first, wealth a close second," meaning students with stellar family backgrounds but low socioeconomic status may be given top priority over those from rich families with lesser pedigrees.
