I have heard that Satoshi Tajiri died during the tsunami in Japan, his name is even trending on twitter. Is he dead or is it just a rumor? Proof please.

No Nintendo has released an official statement that "During the earthquake no one at Nintendo in Japan was injured and there was no apparent structural damage"



Plus Nintendo headquarters is in Kyoto, about 500km south of the affected areas of Sendai and Tokyo

There were rumors that Satoshi Tajiri , creator of Pokemon has died in the Japan’s deadliest Earthquake and Tsunami. He is well alive. Satoshi Tajiri,45 years old live in Machida , Tokyo. Satoshi Tajiri fainted while seeing the destruction done by the Tsunami but he is not dead.



The Japan Earthquake and Tsunami is a great tragedy but some irresponsible people decided to take advantage of the situation to spread rumors online. There were news trending on Twitter and Facebook about the death of Satoshi Tajiri. Satoshi Tajiri has posted on his Facebook , so it is evidence that he is not dead. Nintendo also said he is alive.

I think its a rumor. I just did a google search and he is listed as having died like 10 different times. So its a lie. And besides, wikipedia still has him listed as alive and everyone knows that wikipedia knows all.

There are rumors of tons of manga/anime artists dying. Its not just him. Don't listen to stupid rumors like that.
