They don't. Asuna doesn't have much screen time but they're still a couple. Even in the most recent chapter of hte light novel SAO is based on they're still together as a couple.

Wtf no,they dont break up.In sao 2 some girls kinda hit on Kirito but he never even shows one bit that he will cheat on Asuna.Sao 2 gets waaaay to much hate and imo is worth watching.It is not as good as first season but definetly fun.
