*Sigh*

When I first heard that DC was gonna kill Supes, I immediately thought, wow, how are they gonna bring him back THIS time?

Anyway - one of the 4 "Supermen" put Superman's dead body into the Regenerative Matrix in the Fortress of Solitude and powered it. Supes comes out - alive, but no powers. He then goes after the Cyborg - with the help of Superboy, Steel and the Last Son/Eradicator. As the Cyborg tried to kill the original (What? Did I say kill??? *GASP!*) Supes with K-gas, the gas interacted with the Last Son/Eradicator and thus passed through and somehow, gave Supes his powers back. (Do I hear groans from the gallery, yes, I thought so...)

Green Lantern was also involved in this storyline, pretty heavily. His involvement led to the development of Hal Jordan as the villain, Parallax.

He was resurrected in the Fortress of Solitude by the legacy of Kryptonian intelligence.
