it really depends on the "tone" you're saying it. there;s a lazy "nyan" or a sharpish quick "nyan"
Nyan is the Japanese sound for cat mews/meows, but I usually just pronounce it like Ni - aaaannn
I'm pretty sure the very "correct" or most japanese way of saying it is the way I'm saying it.. not NI - YAN.. that's like speaking japanese with a VERY heavy american accent >_>

if u type it out it would be にゃん。 the "ya" is smaller, indicating it is slurred with the ni. so nyan (rhyming with yan) i guess would be closer.
